Entry-Level Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
Stenz is a family-owned commercial real estate and construction company with a portfolio of properties across the Indianapolis area. We take pride in well-maintained buildings and exceptional tenant experiences. We are looking for a motivated, hands-on entry-level Maintenance Technician to join our team and support day-to-day facilities operations across our commercial properties.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their maintenance career to build skills, gain experience across a diverse property portfolio, and grow with a company that values hard work and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks including HVAC filter changes, lighting inspections, and minor plumbing upkeep
- Respond to tenant work orders in a timely manner and communicate status updates clearly
- Conduct regular property walkthroughs to identify and report maintenance issues
- Assist with repairs to doors, hardware, drywall, flooring, and general building systems
- Support seasonal preparation tasks such as HVAC startup/shutdown, and exterior upkeep
- Coordinate with and assist vendors and contractors during scheduled service visits
- Ensure all work areas are left clean, safe, and compliant with building standards
- Document completed work orders and maintenance activities accurately
- Support facilities projects as assigned by the Chief Engineer
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic knowledge of general maintenance, repair, and hand/power tools
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Positive, team-oriented attitude and professional demeanor with tenants and colleagues
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks including climbing ladders and working in varying weather conditions
- Stand, walk, and be on your feet for the majority of the workday
- Climb ladders and stairs regularly; work at heights up to 20 feet
- Bend, kneel, crouch, and work in confined or tight spaces as needed
- Reach overhead and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity
