The Commercial Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. This position is under the direction of the Property Manager.
Job Description
- Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests, as assigned
- Ensure compliance of all work-related activities in a fair, ethical and consistent manner
- Carry cell phone as required for on-call maintenance
- Complete timesheets and mileage reimbursement accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow established company policies as outlined in Employee Handbook
- Perform monthly building inspections including elevator and fire system inspections
- Maintain accurate records of all inspections
- Perform minor plumbing maintenance (e.g. replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging drains, etc.)
- Perform minor painting (e.g. preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer or roller to apply paints, stains and varnishes, etc.)
- Perform minor carpentry (e.g. hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.)
- Reconfigure, install, remount or move modular shelving and physical space (e.g. furniture, work surfaces, storage bins, file cabinets, etc.)
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company guidelines
- Maintain a professional, courteous manner with all tenants and fellow employees
- Perform special projects, as assigned
- Job requires a moderate degree of exertion. Tech must be physically capable of exerting 20-50 pounds of force, occasionally
Knowledge and Skills
- Uses proper English when interacting with tenants
- Maintains ethical, professional, and courteous relations with contractors
- Complies with professional dress code and appearance
- Punctual, organized, and sense of urgency
Education and Experience
- 3 years’ experience in related field
- Valid driver’s license
- Pass background and drug test
